HURRICANE RECOVERY/DISASTER, RECOVERY WORK – CHEMICAL WASTE, MANAGEMENT FACILITY
When Waste Management felt the wrath of Hurricane Laura in 2020 they called upon the multi-disciplinary capabilities of SMW Projects, Inc. an Alliance Industrial Group Company, to restore electrical systems destroyed by the hurricane and repair civil/structural damage at this large facility. SMW Projects demolished and replaced the existing 2000A Main Service entrance equipment, set new power poles, installed new high lines and replaced switchgear and power distribution equipment as well as area lighting damaged throughout the facility. Installed 1200A Manual Transfer switches with Generator Pin Connections. Eliminated overhead lines wherever possible to minimize future wind damage. Installed new main switchgear and automatic transfer switch with generator programmed for immediate auto- start on loss of power.
