We break projects into 6 silos rather than the conventional 3 silos of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction. This allows us to perform concurrent activities filling all six silos: (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Maintenance, Startup/Commissioning, and Operations).
We work to economical design standards and realize that Construction must have sufficient reaction time in order to achieve optimal cost and schedule reductions. Engineering and Procurement activities are organized around the needs of Construction.
We also utilize a backward integration process which is driven by Owner’s start up criteria. We combine mechanical completion and commissioning activities in order to reduce redundant resources, improve schedule, and reduce costs.
Because Constructability’s impact on Engineering and Procurement has its greatest effect early in the project life cycle, getting us involved early in the project life will realize the maximum impact on lowered facility installed cost and improved schedule. We develop an understanding of each Owner’s design, maintenance, and operations philosophies, and we tailor our execution methodology make the project theirs.
