Lotte Chemical and Westlake Chemical have invested over $3 billion USD in this 1 million TPY Ethane cracker and specialty chemical complex near Lake Charles, LA. SMWP/AIG was initially contracted to provide construction of all OSBL facilities including pipelines under a pristine bayou and across environmentally sensitive marshlands. When a critical need arose, SMWP/AIG was asked to step in to complete construction of the complex and provide Commissioning and Startup services. With the broad capabilities and responsiveness demonstrated by SMWP/AIG under demanding circumstances Lotte had the confidence to award the current Maintenance Services contract for this world class complex to SMWP/AIG.
SMWP/AIG has provided heavy Civil/Structural, Piping, Mechanical, I&E and Heat Trace services at the LACC complex.
SMWP/AIG has managed a workforce of over 250 craft personnel and is providing specialist personnel to perform Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning complete the project and assist in startup.
SMWP/AIG has worked over 180,000 manhours on this project without any recordable safety incidents and with a high level of customer satisfaction.
